New Jet Vac Tanker for Alternative Drainage in Ossett

When Sean Boswell from Alternative Drainage at Ossett met Gary Elsy from G K & N Services at a drainage show at the time when Gary was newly establishing his company almost 20 years ago, it was the beginning of a business relationship that developed into a good friendship.

Sean was looking for a tanker so that he could extend his drainage business further by offering vacuum and jetting services to clients.

His first purchase from G K & N Services was a reconditioned Jet Vac tanker, and soon Sean was able to win new business servicing various local companies.

The vacuum and jetting services side of Sean’s business grew and when he needed another vehicle to add to his fleet, Sean immediately turned to G K & N Services – this time for a brand new Scania High Volume Jet Vac.

The well-made tanker was effective and reliable and as a result helped Sean to win more business – needing more vehicles. Back he went to G K & N to buy a 7.5 ton Jet Vac and a DAF 3,000 gallon Jet Vac.

In the meantime, pleased with quality and reliability of their products, Sean decided to also purchase his van packs from G K & N. With their compact size the van packs fit neatly into Alternative Drainage’s fleet of Ford Transit vans.

Now with contracts with Morrison’s supermarkets, Wakefield Council and various housebuilding and civil engineering contractors, Alternative Drainage’s business continues to grow.

Sean has just placed yet another order for a Jet Vac and the new tanker will go on show on G K & N’s stand at the Tank- ex exhibition in Harrogate from 2nd to 4th June, before being delivered to Alternative Drainage.

Sean said, “When I met Gary all those years ago I was looking to expand my business and one of the reasons I’ve been able to achieve my goal is down to the good workmanship of the tankers G K & N have supplied. Nobody wants a tanker to break down mid-way through emptying a drain or septic tank so reliability is really important.

“Both our businesses are family run and trusted relationships are central to our success.

“In fact the relationship has developed beyond the business and we’re now such good friends that Gary and Karen were invited to our wedding when Jayne and I got married!”
