Drainage Tools For All your Needs

In our G K & N shop we believe we may have every drainage tool you might need for your business – from standpipes and hydrants to manhole lifting tools, hydrant keys and gully grabs.

For example – we have manhole lifting keys in around 10 different lengths – some for lifting gully grates, some for opening side entry grates, some for lifting manhole covers, plus even a Carbon Steel Multi Manhole Key Kit (our best-seller), which comes with a free 18” long stopcock key, and has 2 interchangeable handles and various T-ends, side entry hooks and screw tips – all stored in a handy roll-up case.

 

And in our hydrant and standpipe keys category we have hydrants and stopcock keys in both standard and heavy duty weights and with square or channel type heads.

But even though our product range is large, we realise that you might just require something slightly different to best tackle the task in hand – and we like to help!

The staff at our Scholes workshop have years of experience of making these products so understand our customers’ needs are not always met by what we have on the shelf. Happily our flexibility means that we are able to make bespoke items for those customers who need them.

Just recently we’ve been working with City of Bradford Council when it was clear that the hydrant keys they had were not long enough to reach the taps they needed to turn. Because they were too short they’d also managed to lose a few when trying to stretch too far to move the taps.

G K & N’s solution was not only to make extra-long hydrant keys, but to drill and tap the top so that a false top could be fitted, which would prevent them from falling down drains.

In another project for Bradford we have made a double handled manhole lifting key, so that heavy covers can be lifted safely by two people. They’re not our only customer who has asked for such a product – we also recently supplied a different type of double handled key to the Lanes Group plc, and we expect the idea might catch on!
