Certified ISO9001 Quality Assurance for Drainage Specialists

Last year G K and N went through the process of gaining ISO 9001 certification. This meant it had to implement Quality Management Systems for all areas of its business – including people, services, training, equipment and the offices and workshops.

The purpose of becoming ISO 9001 certified was to improve the company’s management processes to help compete both locally and further afield, and to improve working practices for staff that they too benefit from. It also demonstrates the company’s commitment to quality.

One year on G K and N has just had its 1st post certification assessment – and as there was not a single “non-conformance” – passed with flying colours.

Some of the specifics that were checked at G K and N were procedures that started right from the first enquiry through to the despatch of the order and invoicing. The design processes were checked; the measures introduced to check the competencies of staff and that the tools were calibrated were checked. And so on.

In addition the company had to show it is able to self-audit to ensure that the high standards it set itself are being achieved. So what does this all mean?

As well as benefiting all who work at G K and N because team work is good for staff morale, customers can have confidence that the products they purchase are of high quality and meet all legislative and regulatory requirements.

We think that’s good news all round!
